LIDERI ÎN ACȚIUNE
Project description
Through the project « Leaders in Action » implemented by EIVA Association and co-funded by Arad Municipal Center of Culture you have the opportunity to learn about opportunities available to young people in Europe
In other words, we challenge you to improve your leadership skills, in a concrete way, by learning valuable lessons about what you can do and what opportunities are available for you at European level!
Aim of the project
Developing the ability to understand your own learning needs and self-awareness
Target group
Young people who are part of the education system, in need of support, this should focus on making the most of formal and non-formal learning programs, enabling pupils/students to overcome learning problems and barriers, providing information on how to acquire knowledge that is not taught in school and providing leadership guidance.
Young people who have graduated from college or are in the workforce need guidance/counseling because often people’s personal learning and life goals are not yet set. Although the social environment helps them to identify their individual abilities and set their goals, specific guidance on learning is also useful then during vocational training. Further education or training enables young people in particular to identify different educational paths, find options and make their own long-term education or training plans.
Objectives and justification
General objective
Developing non-formal education opportunities for young people in Arad .
Specific objective nr.1:
To develop the capacity to understand their own learning needs and self-awareness in the context of non-formal education workshops over a period of 30 days.
Specific objective nr. 2: Development of leadership skills among 70 young people from Arad in the framework of workshops through specific non-formal education activities carried out over a period of 30 days.
Justification
The project is relevant to the needs of the target group as it aims to involve young people in non-formal educational activities:
Realizing the importance of self-discovery in terms of their own learning needs and developing the ability to assume the role of leaders in their community;
familiarization with learning opportunities represented by non-formal education;
promoting leadership values and principles in their community
popularizing among young people the opportunities available to young people at European level: learning, volunteering or work placements, different types of opportunities leading to the personal and professional development of young people in Europe.
Most EU objectives focus on improving the education sector because of the influence it has on economic growth through productive employment, skills, vocational training and youth retention. Inequality of opportunity is considerable, meaning that children’s socio-economic background affects their academic outcomes. Human capital is of key importance in the development of communities. Success in the labor market is determined by different dimensions of a person’s skill set, combining cognitive, socio-emotional and job-specific skills.

What is the topic.
LEADERS IN ACTION!
We revere really good leaders and tend to assume that their accomplishments came about regardless of the help they received from others. However, the truth is that no leader would be very good without the support and help of teammates. As leaders, you will never move forward until your people are behind you.
In other words, we challenge you to improve your leadership skills by learning valuable lessons that you will go through in this Game&Learn which is a leadership skills development program based on the book Leadership Gold by John Maxwell and supported by Florina Rădulescu certified John Maxwell member.
What it contains

THE "LEADERS IN ACTION!" STORY
« If you don’t fight for what you want, you deserve what you get! » John Maxwell
For 30 days, thanks to the project co-funded by the Municipal Center of Culture Arad, in partnership with EIVA Association, we held for young people from Arad learning through play sessions- Game&Learn- which had as main theme the opportunities available to young people at European level and leadership.
During the sessions we saw a remarkable spirit of leadership shown by the participants. Extremely open to the new, eager to assert themselves to bring added value to their community, each where they are active, very capable and with a strong sense of belonging to Arad.
There were many moments of awareness, in a relaxing and humorous atmosphere, moments of self-discovery, of learning from others and of sharing their own extraordinary experiences that gave a new perspective on life for those present.
Our partners in implementing the activities were the Technological High School of Food Industry in Arad and the Henri Coandă High School of Automotive Transportation in Arad.
The young participants discovered numerous examples of young people who have exploited the opportunities available at European level and discussed many topics through which they were able to better crystallize their own vision through self-discovery.
They understood that an important role in leadership is personal leadership, that the highest form of leadership is to lead oneself towards one’s own goals and that taking responsibility for the leadership role in the community is a high goal.
They have moved to a new level of understanding about the ability to make conscious decisions in order to navigate the way forward in both personal and professional life.

Young people have discovered the main programs and platforms dedicated to young people at European level:
Erasmus + with learning placements and intercultural exchanges in all European countries
the European Solidarity Corps, facilitating actions through which young people can learn and get involved in the life of communities in Europe
Eurodesk – the European learning service presenting all the opportunities available to young people in Europe.
Following these sessions we had excellent feedback from those who attended, with leaders leaving with a strong desire for action and continuous improvement
